Supporting the New Computer Corporation, a team dedicated to making the Internet fun again. The NCC has created a suite of decentralised APIs (dAPIs) which can help organisations from brands to fan-led communities to design their own Web3 microcosms. Whether it’s the ease of using the microwallet, Inkey, to share exchangeable tokens at a music festival or the power of STOI, to put song ownership back in the hands of the artist (and emotional investment at the fingertips of their followers), the NCC is building for the creators.
Inkey microwallet offered access to a token within the existing app created for the Miami music festival, III Points. The token was exchangeable for fast-lane entry, free drinks, and free roller skate rentals at the festival's neon roller rink. What was great was that engagement didn’t drop off after the first day of the event; distribution of tokens on Day 2 equalled the pre-event distribution figures at a festival with approximately 30,000 attendees and limited connectivity.
Out of almost 8,000 festival-goers who visited the promotion site leading up to and during the event, non-native crypto users opened 4,500 wallets, 98% on mobile – a 57% conversion rate. User-centred copy and design made it easy for festival-goers to manage, even perhaps with the obligatory can in hand :-)
I loved helping the founders to write press releases, product descriptions, and UX copy that was intuitive and helped convey the potential of these paradigm-shifting digital tools.
