Webb deVlam

As marketing manager for Webb deVlam, I took the lead on creating video case studies. This involved working on scripts and storyboards with two very talented motion graphics and film-making graduates, coordinating the design directors' time, and getting clients on board with the project.

The inspiration for creating videos was to end “death by Power Point” (or Keynote in this case). With design projects, there are often seemingly minor details and nuances held within the process, which aren’t always obvious in the finished work. The challenge is to tell those stories with a lightness of touch which remains true to the designers’ vision but which doesn’t leave the audience switching off.

Not only did the films lead to repeat business, an increase in RFIs and award wins, but clients often asked to use the films for their own marketing efforts.

This short video for Bombay Sapphire Electro was created as supporting material for awards submissions. The project, which uses electroluminescence, went on to win 25 awards including Webb deVlam's first Cannes Lion.
